Voyage
03:04
|
|
||
Willows wilt while insects eat their dying leaves for sap.
Pines will carry on through freezing temperatures, but the first have come and gone.
Time tends to slip through cracks and crevices like sand beneath your feet.
Our loved ones mourn on winter shores, for death is certain once we’re born.
Tides roll in over the top of frigid coastlines and rock.
Long before and evermore, the clock will always keep the score.
Waves wash in under the fog beneath the moonlight.
As rain falls to the earth, dusk leaves a morbid feeling.
As sunlight hits the sea, dawn marks a new beginning.

Tracers

Her mouth is moving in shapes.
Motion is in a dreamlike moment.
Words are sinking into his chest.
Tracers are tracking body movement.
Comfort paints the mind's eye grey.
Hold on, be still, and let the fear pass through you. Remind yourself to breathe. Moments like these make your life worth living. It’s worth experiencing.
A perception can hinder us from feeling alive.
Ask yourself, are you living life?
In a second, a second goes by.
Did you spend it how you had in mind?

Despondent
01:55
|
|

A yellow potted plant extends itself toward the window pane. Did it really have a choice? Did I choose to sit and stare? Are these guilty feelings illusions? Are we merely witnessing this right now? Do you dive or cannonball? Are you aware? Is your life predictable, or do you care? Is this all over before it’s done?

Portal
03:07
|
|
||
A corridor, completely black, stretches for a quarter mile and at the end there’s a mirror image of where we’re standing. It’s like a portal to another universe with figures that resemble us but wearing different colored clothes. Their movements are exactly the same as ours. Who is down there? How can they know where we’re going to move our hands? We feel compelled to walk further toward them. As we enter the space between us we notice that there are doorways to our left. We wonder whether we should veer into one of these rooms or continue toward The Others.
After talking through our options we move toward The Others. As the distance between us and them closes we lose our ability to observe the minutiae that distinguishes us from them. Suddenly the frigid grip of the air swells around us and in that moment we realize that we’ve been taken by the faculties of our minds. The Others are who we were destined to be.

Omen
03:22
|
|
||
Smoke billows out of The Sleeper’s den as timelines branch out like ripples in the sand. Fortune tends toward those that make their bed. Sanctions bend for those that break bread.
Take heed to this dire omen.
Pay mind to it. Take time for it.

Ceremony

Crusades, campaigns, assault, hatred and flames. Touché usurper, I fold a sacred place. Go, take it, and leave this alone.
There is blood on your face and your arms.
Two play. One takes the fall. It’s ceremonial. Truces, treaties and terms never take hold.
Some people take what they want.
Some stand and others crawl.
Some are forgotten.
All die the same.
Do you think you want it all?
Will you stand or will you crawl?
Will you be forgotten?
A lord can be brought to his knees and a beggar can become his king.

Fracture
02:42
|
|
||
One phone call.
Sixty seconds felt so long.
The drive home left me breathless.
I opened the door, I saw the cat, and I hit the floor.
The mirrors, the colors, and the lights on the walls. This home was so beautiful.
I want it back, but I guess it’s time go.
This was perfect, but life takes things away. It’s heartless.
Goodbye gorgeous. I want you to know that I loved you.
We’re going to need some time before amends can be made.
We’re going to need a minute to forget.
It is part of the human experience to lose sight of the ones we love.

Passersby
01:57
|
|
||
Skyscrapers, city lights, advertisement signs, and sounds of passers by bustle in the night. Lovers hold their hands, vagrants sit on stoops, and suits make their demands.
When we’re moving our feet, are we wondering by?
When we’re running our mouths, are we wondering why?
In the name of God, take some time.
Stars are going black and they aren’t coming back.
Summer is going to fade and leaves are going to change.
There’s no knife to our throats!
It’s likely that we’ve gone off the road.
We might be better off moving slow.
